NARELLE EVANS

Narelle Evans graduated from the Tasmanian Conservatorium with a Bachelor of Music and DipEd, before moving to Sydney in the year 2000.
Known for her diversity, Narelle has performed comedy, cabaret, jazz, rock’n’roll, opera, country and music theatre. Highlights include ‘Les Miserables’ (Cossette), ‘The Pirates of Penzance’ (Mabel) and ‘Dido and Aneas’ (Dido). Narelle has been a guest artist with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, The Marais Project and is a multiple ACE Award nominee for her one-woman cabaret show. For sixteen years Narelle toured with ‘Sounds Baroque’ performing children’s Opera throughout Australia for ‘Musica Viva’ in schools. During her time with ‘Musica Viva’ Narelle also became a workshop presenter for teachers in regional schools - fostering vocal confidence in Primary and Secondary classroom teachers.
Performance wise, Narelle spent 8 years fronting Sydney swing band ‘The Jivebombers’, and produced “The Rockabilly Women Show’ with her band ‘Narelle Evans & the Jetbacks’. Current show credits include ‘Classic Country’, ‘The Songs of James Taylor & Carole King’, ‘Aja - The Songs of Steely Dan’ and ‘The Swinging Sixties Show’. Narelle is currently vocal arranger and performer with her group ‘CompanyB’ singing ‘The Songs of Bing Crosby and The Andrews Sisters’. For 25 years Narelle has been a singing teacher at schools in Sydney and for the last 10 years has been teaching at the Central Coast Grammar School.
