Stand Up, Sing Out!

What is Stand Up, Sing Out?

Stand Up, Sing Out is a mass choir community event that provides a unique platform for men, women and children to raise awareness and funds for organisations that support the wellbeing of people in our community.

Stand Up, Sing Out Sydney 2016

On November 27, 2016 Hummingsong Choirs hosted the inaugural Stand Up, Sing Out Sydney.

Over 900 people united in song with guest Australian singer-songwriters, Lior & Christine Anu to celebrate the power of building stronger communities and to stand up against domestic violence.

In Australia, despite the increased attention this issue receives in the media, the prevalence of domestic violence in our communities continues to grow.

Funds raised from this event were donated to White Ribbon to continue their work for the prevention of domestic violence in particular the development and implementation of Respectful Relationships programs within schools.

Our Vision

It is our vision following on from the success of the inaugural 2016 event to host future Stand Up, Sing Out Sydney events in not only Sydney but every state of Australia in years to come. Through hosting these events we aim to unite communities through singing while using this as a platform for social change. Stand Up, Sing Out events provide an opportunity for people regardless of age, gender, race, religion, nationality, singing experience… to unite as one.
